What is your normal ground reading?

Southwind

Well-known member
I see people talk about their ground reading and it seems pretty low compared to mine. I've always thought I had pretty mild soil here but I normally get a ground reading from 88 to 94. Is this indicating a high mineral ground?

Terry, the readings at the two spots I hunted were 77 and 82. I always though higher number indicated higher mineralization. R.L.

Mine wil read anywhere in the low to mid 80's and an occational jump to high 80's , but never into the 90's ......I get down to the low 20's and into the teens on wet salt beaches ........ Jim

On NC beach, I was Ground Balancing at 13. The number really didn't change much if I went to the wet sand hit by the waves.

Im in north east Tn and mine reads 76-82.It usually balances in the 80s but I noticed it balanced in the 75-77 range yesterday but the ground was saturated with water after we had heavy rains..

here in arizona its in the 80s

Here in SE Indiana I'm getting 70 to mid 80's the wetter the ground the lower the number it seems..

here in central california i balance at 91 i think the ground was moist but it seems we have bad soil here doesnt effect me finding deep targets at all with the AT Pro love it.

Im in Aus and mine balances normally around 88 -91 on grass areas. Can still run easy on max sensitivity

YES .....The higher the number , the higher the mineral content ...... Wet Salt will react differently ...... It will G.B. down really low !!..... I find that even though it may be a little noisy on dry land or dry sand that if I G.B. to between 70-75 manually , I will hit gold targets and Silver coins pretty evenly as far as how hard they hit !!..... Wet salt sand is COMPLETELY diferent .....It's much lower .....Jim
