Hi Guy's,
I'm working my way thru this new unit and like most people I started with some settings that other people were using But I do like to fine tune things on my own and really learn a unit thru and thru. I have my FE line set at 21 @ the moment and wondered where you guys are? I have also been working thru the settings like High Trash and low Trash and others. Things like this that we did with our Etracs with ground difficult ect.
Just looking for some thoughts
Thanks in advance
Todd

24 here as well

Mine is at 18.

As high as it go's 35 I think what ever open screen is. I tried with more and the signals are always clearer at 35 I check and I check targets again and again and came to the conclusion that 35 is better. SOUND WISE does not me you wont here them with more but they are clearer. sube

Mine varies with the Separation mode and Patterns. If I am in and around an old farm site with iron trash of various sizes, I'll run with a FE line around 22. If I am in a modern park, I'll want tighter audio identification for the CO bins and raise it to 19 or 20.

I've read some posts regarding how the FE line is set for various levels of discrimination. A few comments I would like to make are.....

The reason for having Combined audio was to allow the user to audibly identify a group of targets without having to discriminate them out. If you are using Combined audio with the FE line at 35, you won't be hearing any targets from the "bottom bin". In fact, you won't have a bottom bin. You will get the same tones you would with 4 tone CO, thus ignoring the purpose of having that FE bin.

And

if you are running with a level of rejection (such as the stock coin Pattern) and set the FE line down into the rejected area, those targets in that bottom bin will produce a null instead of the tone you could assign them. Again, you're not taking advantage of the purpose for that FE bin. JMHO HH Randy

Possible that I didn't state my question correctly. I was asking about the line in relation to the tone in the bottom bin. I hunt with no discrim at all. I listen to it all.
