WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SOVEREIGN COIL??

........Do you like the stock coil the best? Or is your favorite the 5.5, 10, 12.5, 14, 15 or the 16.5 inch coil?? And state why?? Thanks ...........Joe

Joe: The 10" coil is a great coil, you get pretty decent depth with it. The 12 " get a little more depht and a lillte more coverage. The 15" WOT get the coverage, but does not get more depth then the 12" because you will have to lower your sensitivity down to keep it from becoming unstable. I don't own any other ones. I have a friend with a 5" Sunray, it does great. I hope that helps , Tony from Tidewater

My Fav is the 8 inch Coinsearch coil , it offers great depth, excellent target seperation, it is lightweight, and it seems to create a crisp tone definition(easier to tell the different targets apart) as well as seemingly holding on to the tone a bit longer........It is a proven performer and a coil I feel EVERY Sovereign owner needs to have in their stable.......

The two Tornado coils and the Sunray S12. all three are super sensitive, deep, waterproof and lightweight.

Neil

I feel the 8 inch coinsearch is the one a person needs to learn the Sovereign with, the S-8 of Sun Rays is a great one if you know your Sovereign as it seems to pick out the targets close to trash better. For a bigger coil the S-12 does great and better depth than any other bigger coil will. Now for the Stock 10 inch Slimline coil the new GT and the Elite has been a big improvement over the BBS 10 inch or the BBS 8 I feel and use the 10 inch on my GT more than any other coil. I got a 8 inch slimline I got from Neil, but haven't tried it yet and feel it may take my 8 inch coinsearch coils place as it should get as deep if not more plus it is waterproof.

on the beach...Sun Ray S12 on land Sun Ray S8....iv used them all and for me these are top dog!

In the brush S-8 in the fields S-12. Only one I haven't tried is the Joey and if I could find one cheeep I would try it.

For my Beach's the Sun ray S-12 is Top Dawg & for my Local parks the Coinsearch is Top Dawg!

I've recently picked up an Explorer so am putting most of my time in on that but, before that, I spent a year with the Sov with the 7.5" coil. I've since picked up a 8" Coinsearch coil and immediately fell in love with it, even though I've not used it that much due to focusing on the SE. From what I can tell in that time frame though, all the hype about that coil is well deserved. I could sure tell a difference. (And the slightly convex coil cover just gliiiiiiiiiiides over the surfaces!) Since I've picked up a 10" BBS but haven't really given it a good test yet so can't comment.
