What is this?

Hey guys, I know I have seen one of these somewhere before, but I have no idea what to do a search for in order to find it. I found this at an old late 1800's ghost town today. It seems modern, but any help on an ID would be greatly appreciated!

tent rope tensioner, late 1800's to ww1 military sites is where I've found most of mine.

Wow, thanks for the info coloradocav. I found it very close to the area where the plat shows the town church used to be. I've also found an old oil lamp base and a butter knife in that same area. I'll keep working that area. Thanks for the info!

good luck at the site, sometimes these pieces have dates on them too.

Do they have any value other than historical?

unfortunately I don't think they hold much monetary value, they look good in riker cases with the other relics though.
