What is this???

Hello everyone!! This is my first post on this site. I have been detecting for about a year and a half. I first had a Whites Prizm, but a few months back, upgraded to the M-6, which I love. I do alot of relic hunting on old farmhouse sites. I will sometime later post pics of everything I have found. I found this object yesterday at an old farmhouse. It is fairly heavy, maybe cast iron? I haven't really cleaned it great. But I am not sure what it is!! Some people have told me it might be a spur, or maybe a piece of a horse bridle. If anyone knows what it could be and/or how old it is, feel free to comment!!

Don't know what it is, but a couple different angles and a ruler or something for scale would help.
