Hey guys, Can anyone identify this item? It was dug at a camp site in Nashville by a fellow back in the 80s. He has tried for years to find out what this is. It is metal ( not sure what metal) It has white pitina spots covering it, it has two pieces attached that look like buckles for straps. The overall size is approx. 6 inches in dia. the buckles measure about 4 inches x 3/4 inches. ANY IDEAS! Thanks for looking, Gutz

charles, this looks like that find. it is described as a top collar pad worn on a horses neck under the working collar. check it out,#93581 compliments of my 1897 sears catalog.buckle positions are the same, even though yours looks a little mis-shaped.
hope this helps.

Hi guys. Good work on this. How did you know it was a Curtis zinc collar pad? I've got a bit of info on the factories that produced it, but haven't seen the product, so this is a first. Also, is there access to images you've already posted? Or does access to them expire? Here's an image of one of the factories that was in Madison,WI.
