What is the meaning "Hot Rock "on the display?

I went out to a local park to get some time in with me new machine, and I got the words Hot Rock on the display. Should I check it out? I found Dog tags, Pull-tabs, matchbox car , and about $1.00 in coins. Nothing great but I am still learning. I will post the finds soon.:usmc:

Hot rocks are highly mineralized rocks, They contain minerals such as Iron, and other heavy metals. They will play games with your detector....

Its one of 2 things, either your running the machine to hot ( gain is to high ) or your in an area with lots of large junk.....

If your in an area with lots of mineralization try using a 6X9 DD coil it helps alot. I use it as my basic coil. It gets just as deep as the 950 if not deeper. It also helps getting around some of the junk and finding the good stuff.....

Also when you hit those hot rocks try lifting up the coil some and continue hunting.
