What is the higest CO number for gold?

I am setting up a combined mode I am calling '3 tone ferrous' with a low tone for iron, a high tone for silver and copper, and a mid tone for gold.

What is the highest CO value you guys have ever had gold come in at? I am trying to figure out a good place to end that bin.

Thanks,

One of the members here stated recently that he got a 14k ring at CO 42

Wow, it really depends on the size and karat. I pulled a 10k men's wedding band that was 12-34. Can't recall the exact weight, but it was heavy. My old high school class ring (10k) is 12-38.

What is the actual range for US gold coins?

This Tiffany & Co. sterling ring weighs more than 3 grams, yet the CO ID was around 11 or 12. This is because the ring is made up of many tiny rings.

Low Karat gold mixed with silver comes in the mid 40s. I have found gold from CO - 01 to 46. Most were found in saltwater beach settings but some were found while coin and relic hunting. Duke $1 gold coins usually come in around 12-01 and 12-02. A $10 gold coin comes in at 12-34 or 12-35. A $ 2 1/2 comes in at 12-16. Have not got a $ 5 here but I will get one out of the safety deposit box and post later. My machine is in combine and ferrous coin right now but gold should not change much. HH :minelab:

I am hunting in a big debris field filled with iron nails so I guess that will skew the numbers as well.

Just dends how big the piece is really.

my video may give you a better idea
