What is the ferrous number that you dug that turned out to be a deep silver or copper.

Interesting question.
I set my disc about Fe 27 and have dug high conductors up to about 20.
I have dug numerous nickels in the 18-12 to 23-12 range

I should have added the question as well, what is the lowest conductivity number that you've dug deep silver coin.

Similar results between eTrac and Explorer...on my EX2 I've NEVER dug a silver COIN below 25 CO...that seems to be the advice,is to make sure the CO numbers don't jump around and it's at least a few numbers from where they should be. It seems to be good advice, wherever it came from...

I'd have to say in the high 20s for me. But I'll hit my quick mask with a wide open screen to see if the ferrous # falls lower and hangs out lower. Then my final check is in Pinpoint mode the rusty junk will Sometimes show its true nature then cause its will pinpoint off to the sides and show low ferrous #s

I got a silver 1923 dollar at 1-41 / 1-42. Most other silver 8 to 12 - 38 to 49. Silver Jewelry is weird sometimes.

I have found several silver dimes that the numbers were 24-45 to 25-46 in both directions. I run as much of an open screen as I can and dig by ear more than by the numbers.

That is a very good question, I'm interested in responses as well. This next season i will do at least one hunt on a previously hit 1800's home site in which every signal is dug and make notes on the signal and the find (we'll see how long that lasts..I'm notoriously impatient and like to cherry pick). The site that i'm referring to has produced more silver that any other i have tried, there has to be more.

edit...I must add that most of the silver from the site was found using a Sovereign XS with a DTI III meter

Unfortunately the numbers you gave are right in line with the Etrac Emulator as to where they are supposed to be on Silver Dollars.

if it sounds good dig it no matter the number yes you will dig some trash but also get some nice surprises, I also hit QM with open screen and that is usually enough info for me to dig or pass

This evening in a bad EMI site (directly beneath two residential power service lines and a telephone line, between two houses), a really crummy and very intermittent
24-39 / 25-40 signal turned out to be a lovely green1917-D wheat penny, about four inches deep.

This is of course not "deep" but given the EMI situation I was pretty impressed. Was running sensitivity at 12 with a whole bunch of chatter.

I dug a silver 1851 15 Kopek coin with a 22 conductive number and an 1840 half dime with a 27 conductive number.

The lowest conductive number I have seen for a silver dime has been a 43.
