What is the deal with Troy and Tesoro?

Are they both made but the Giffords? They look almost identical and I understand that the Troy coils, at least some of them, work on the uMax machines.

Thanks,

J

Troy had Tesoro build his Shadow X2 to his spec and designed a coil too which I understand Tesoro copied. The Shadow X2 was basically a Silver Sabre with some improvements with one the coin check button. He then designed the Shadow X5 which now was built by Fisher and none of the coils would interchange with Tesoro or Fisher. Then came the Shadow X3 which from my use was a better detector for competition hunting as it was faster, but the X5 was deeper and seem to work better for reg hunting. The X3 and the X5 coils would interchange. I will say that the X5 was the best non meter detector i have ever used with the Tesoro Tejon the second best and it was the best Tesoro I have ever used.

Wow, if the X-5 is better than the Tejon, and in the same class, I need to check it out!

Thanks,

Julien
