What is the best Whites detector for relic hunting?

I have a Tesoro Tejon and a Nautilus DCMIIBa. I am considering buying another detector for relic hunting. Not that I am planning on getting rid of the others just wanting to cover all the bases. What is the best Whites for hunting relics and will it get deep like my other machines?

I love the Nautilus for pure raw power and depth. On that note there is nothing that will blow a Naughty out of the water for depth....but she can be a heavy bugger.
The Tejon is nice...great depth and nice and lite weight.
So it would seem that you have the deep stuff covered just not a target ID system....I would assume is you motivation.
I say that as once you have a deep machine like a Nautilus you are not going to improve on depth much with another machine.
unless you need depth with ID....or ID for use in trash.
Both of the WHites machines are great for relic hunting. The only factor that I can see that would affect my decision between the two is where I would use it.
If I wanted a superb ID machine that I can swing in say....nice open fields then the Xl Pro (6000) would be my choice. It can realy get some deep targets when swept fast.
If, on the other hand, I needed a machine to use in areas with alot of trash I would go with the MXT. The 6000 is not bad in trash but the MXT is better. By this I mean trash that is heavy and requires the machine to swept slow.
For a a machine that would do good in both I would vote again the MXT.
I do like the 6000's ID meter...very easy to see...and very accurate. It is noisy in areas with rusty iron but it handles it well....just it will click and pop alot.
Also I like the MXT a bit better for my relic hunting as I use the relic mode. This allows me to hear rejected iron as a low growl but good targets come through with a high pitch. When I hunt relics I search for the iron laden areas. Iron trash follows human activity. If I am in a field I search for areas with iron infestation and then hunt slow. The MXT allows you to run wide open and listen for the iron tones while not having to stare at a meter.
Just my thoughts...either is great...one will be better than another depending on environment....sometimes.

I hunt for the old stuff Civil War, War of 1812 and Revolutionary War. I have found things from the CW and War of 1812 and a few possibles from the Rev. War. I have chosen to go ahead and get the MTX and it just so happened while I was at the dealers checking them out a guy came in to sell one that he bought in July and has used three times. The dealer looked at it and then told me to take a look. It was like brand new and the warranty is transferable. The dealer was Grady owner of Noble Electronics (Whites dealer) and he is a friend, he told me I couldn't go wrong by buying the guys setup. The guy had receipts from the original sale and he paid just over $900.00 for everyting which incluced earphones, pinpointer and carry bag. I got it for $650.00 and was quite pleased with the deal. The thing that sold me on the MXT is that I have two hunting partners that use Nautilus and Minelab machines but lately they have been swinging the MXT with good result. As a matter of fact they haven't even pulled out their other machines on the last few hunts. Thanks Monte and glad to see that they finally remembered your password on that other site. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">
