WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO FIND THE OWNER OF A CLASS RING

GunnarMN

New member
It is a womans ring and she may have got married, so last name has changed. ?

There are a lot of ways. First contact the school. ASK for the librarian. They help the most. Find the womans full name. Is it gold? Your local paper MIGHT want the goodwill story and will carry it. (Will get you into great spots also!) After you get the full name go to http://www.zabasearch.com/ Put in your state and start calling people with the last name in your area. ONE of them will know her. Hope this gives you some good ideas.

Put an ad in Craigslist under lost and found possibly. How old a ring are we talking?

Yeah, lots of ways...I dont know how good you are on the computer there Gunnar, I'm not...but my daughter tracks down the owners of the class rings and cell phones I find in a few minutes on facebook...

You can always try going to http://www.classringfinder.com/ and either look for rings losts by other people or add yours to those rings that were found.

Thanks for that website. If I find any class rings, maybe I can get them back to the rightful owners or their family.

Yearbooks and try to find a person who organizes class reunions.

Thats why I said call the school and ask for the librarian. They have all the yearbooks and are more inclined to help. My experience is most the other staff forget about you.

When I started metal detecting i found a few class rings over the months and i tried to return one and the lady said her house was robbed years ago and it was stolen and she called the cops on me and i got the ninth degree. It was no problem but i will never return a ring again.I now smelt all the rings i find and 6 class rings were just turned into a shop to be smelted by me and i was told by the cops i wasnt alowed to metal detect the parks and i had no problem the years before this.Inow hate that lady!
