What is the best coil for trashy areas?

What would be the best coil for a 6000 Di Pro SL for use in parks and other places that have a lot of pulltabs, foil, etc, but not a lot of iron.

n/t

Any of the 6 inch versions...Two 5.3 models are a little deeper but the older white blue max 600 has better seperation...3.5 snooper coil is just too darn small for any coverage but can be handy around trees and those real tight spots and next to iron fences and playground equipment...

I use the eclipse 5.3 ... I have also used the 6x10 Eclipse. I was told that the 4x6 eclipse works a little better than the 5.3

Best of luck

Here is what you asked:

"What would be the best coil for a 6000 Di Pro SL for use in parks and other places that have a lot of pull tabs, foil, etc, but not a lot of iron."

Now, here is how I view this rather commonly asked question:

"What would be the best tire for a Chevy Corvette for use in deserts and other places that have a lot of deep chuck-holes, washboard roads, etc, but not a lot of large rocks?"

Both of th Eclipse coils you mentioned are excellent coils but, neither of these coils will work on his 6000. Go with as Monte suggested. Either the Bullseye 5.3 or other 6 inch Or, if you have a lot of mineralization try the 3X6 DD Shooter.

Hi Monte, in your post you said get as much signal balance as you can. Will this help my Eagle 11 sl. I have the Blue Max 600 coil,it dose very well, but I don,t set the balance above preset am i losing something by doing this? Thinks Dean

I currently own both coils (the 5.3 Bullseye and the Blue Max 4x6 Shooter). These coils provide superior performance in high trash areas. However, I'm starting to think that I may be missing some opportunities when I use the Blue Max Shooter. It appears that the maximum detection depth of this coil is about 4 to 5 inches. I have found much deeper coins when using the Bullseye. Would using an 8-inch coil like the Royal 800 search coil provide even better depth while still providing good separation in trashy areas?

Dean,

That adjustment is quite useful and one of the benefits of using a good functional setting with each different coil is that you can maximize the performance. With the smaller coil, it will give you a little better depth and responsiveness, and will allow you to sweep a little slower than with a reduced setting. The slower sweep of the smaller coil is to your advantage so far as efficient coverage (not going too fast) and working in and around trash.

slightly better coverage and slightly better depth over the 6

Thinks Monte, I will try raise my balance.I love my eagle, I have the MXT also, love it to. but the eagle was my first it is a 1989, dose a very good job. I got it used off ebay with two coils for 350.00 It has paid for itself many times. Thanks for all your help, I always read all your posts. Thinks Dean
