what is the best allround searchcoil for the soveriegn gt , i have a 10 inch tornado coil at the moment .is there a better one ?.

MM,a very good question. The 10 inch coil is a great all around coil. Some Sovereign users have different favorite coils, but in my humble opinion the 10 is probably the best all around coil. There are some very experienced Sovereign users here to help and hopefully they will weigh in on your question.Welcome to the forum.HH Ron

I like the Sun Ray S-8 and the original 8" Coinsearch coils. I learned my first Sov with the Coinsearch and if it was waterproof, that's all the coil I would need.

The S-8 is waterproof and very light too, as is the Coinsearch.

The 10 inch Tornado coil is excellent all around coil that come with it. Now if you are new to the Sovereign the 8 inch Coinsearch is the best to learn the Sovereign with but not waterproof. If you are experienced with the Sovereign and need a small coil the Sun Ray S8 is the one I like as it seperates great and got great depth and if you need a bigger coil the S-12 of Sun Rays is the best big coil I have ever used and not heavy like some that size are.

I will second that ...
Best "All Around" coil is the 10".

For max depth use a WOT.
For trashy areas use the 8".

I totally agree with Rick. You are fudging the question badly with the phrase "All Around". You would do better with 2 coils, an 8" and a 11", but if there can be only one, let it be the stock 10".

i like having 2 coils.the Sun Ray S12 for the beach to cover a lot of ground quick with good depth and the S8 for land or trashy areas or in the water.if i had to pic just one i guess it would be the S8 as you can use it anywhere, the bigger coils are not good in heavy trash areas but on open beach they are awsome and weigh less than the stock 10" coil !
