Smart Notch Discrimination on the 5G: You choose... detect or ignore them. Just push a pad and nails, foil, and tabs are in or out. The "Smart" system notches each zone based on your discrimination setting. 8-Zone Discrimination adjusts so you pick what you want to see and hear. Hear and see it all, or just the good stuff. A push button Discrimination system, effective, Yes, but not very many people use the notch feature, most just reject Iron and foil or Iron, foil and tabs and accept the rest.
On the Prizm IV & 5, smart notch is based on your discrimination setting.
Press Smart Notch.
With DISC control set at FOIL or below, pull tabs are eliminated.
With DISC control at Nickels or above, Nickels are accepted.
Smart Notch either eliminates TAB or accepts Nickels. A missing or added DISC
symbol indicates Smart Notch is engaged.
