I live not far from Lake ontario and other fingerlakes.
The soil is mild and my thoughts are.I had the tejon and the cibola and the silve rumax and the bandidoII umax and the tejon again which I just sent back
I know the cibola stunned mewith the air test for depth but didn't seem to match it outside and I never had the Vaquero so here are my thoughts
tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,tejon,vaquero,cibola,
I think a cibola is all I need-I think I can get a new one and do the mod myself.I have seen some nice ones in the forums.
What happened-they used to get a lot of praise and now you can get them cheap.

I think the vaquero is great.... try it. It's what I finally decided to keep after trying them all a few times. I leave the 5.75" coil on. I hunt better in iron with it than I do with the silver umax.

I've been playing with my compadre the last 3 times I hunted though, I didn't see that on your list. It's also a keeper ;-). It hunts well in iron too.

I toy with the idea of selling the silver, but I bought it new and prob never will.

I loved the cibola.... The one I modded with GB was awesome, surprisingly so. It has a little more language in it's tone than the vaq... Meaning the vaq is more cut and dry in it's signal where the modded cibola I had seemed to give more info in it's tone. Extra info doesn't mean it was better, but I believe it was there. If anything it made it easier to ID Iron.

My final decision was to get the vaquero new.

I still look, but haven't had the urge to try anything else again..

I still buy used, but dread running in to that circumstance you just had. Since I knew I want to keep it I bought it new.

Tried them all-you mean the tejon etc etc in the tesoro line.I'm just looking for coins most of the time and any of the three would be good
thanks for the reply also thinking of the troy shadow X2 or the X3.

I had the Tejon... I felt it was more than I need. I dig everything above iron, second discrimination not useful to me. It's slightly heavier and chatters more. I'm sure you've read some people say it's the deepest while others claim it's too sensitive and suffers in mineralized dirt.

If I could own them all I'd be happy to use it once in a while, but I still prefer the vaquero.

I haven't tried the Lobo St or either water machine. Not sure I ever will.

Did you try the Fisher CZs, minelab sovereigns, or explorers yet? They are impressive, but heavy and expensive. I'm stuck on Tesoro now ;-)

DeLeon. You get the circuitry of the Cortes, the TID, good depth, Umax coils, light weight, though not as light as the Cibola, and if you shop the used market, great deals!
