What is it? Found at a Tavern from the 1840's. It may or may not be that old.
 
But it does appear to be very old. Sorry I can't be of any help. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
 
Been looking at this for a couple of weeks and My guess is that it is a tine from a Field digger or some sort of mechanical trenching tool. Michigan has a number of tiled fields if I remember correctly. Here are some pictures of the field digger. I could see something like yours on these AG machines.
