I found these the other day, my first thought on the one with the E stamped was that its a button but then I noticed the back is cupped ( its about the size of a nickel). on the other I first thought it was a coin then got some dirt off it and noticed on the back it looks like something was attached to it so I am not sure on either one( about the size of a half dollar). any ideas??

hi terry. the larger piece looks like an old civilian horse rosette with the two attachment points visible. the attachment points were iron pins a lot of times and rusted away. the smaller piece reminds me of a medicine bottle top, but i might be wrong. hh!

Terry I found one exactly like your first find last weekend except the E was on the inside, not the outside. My E is the exact same style as yours. The relic is heavy, silver-ish with not brass showing whatsoever, and has a light ring along the outer edge on the outside. Is about the size of a large button and curved to accept a back, but couldn't find it. As well I couldn't see any other attachment points, so I'd be interested if anyone knows what this could be.
