WHAT IS IT?

HI just got home from detecting and found this axe i think. Did not clean it yet but hope some one can tell me about how old it is and what it was used for. Found it along the shore of lake Winnebago WI. It was down maybe 10in or so in black dirt.

I've seen this style of axe head come out of CW era campsites.

Great relic man! I would work that area in all metal around there a bit, might be some more good iron relics there. Might be a camp up on a little higher
ground?

hi harry, i've found axe heads like that before around cw camps. i think they call 'em trade axes. hh,
