Hi new to detecting (about two months ) started with bounty hunter machines but I have some questions about a tesoro Silver Sabre II, saw a good deal on one and am curious. Is this machine an older or discontinued model? Is it an low end beginner or more advanced is just a shallow coin shooter or a deeper more serious machine? what would be fair price? would it be an upgrade from a BH pioneer 505? any input would be highly appreciated. Ed in co.

The silver saber II was released by Tesoro in 1991 so your pushing a 19 year old machine. these where good machines in there day. It will run in all metal or
discrimination mode and has a threshold control.
I would say you would be better served with a silver saber uMax or the currant modal silver uMax.
You can pick up ether for $200.00 to $250.00 both will run deep and find the good stuff!!!
below is a link to the silver saber II manual

thanks, that takes care of all my questions. Think i will stay with the newer tech. I need all the help I can get.

The Silver Sabre II was my first machine and a great detector. I sold it and kick myself for doing so. I still have the manual. If it's in good shape and a good price I say snag it. It will fill your pickle jar with coins as fast as a new one.
