What is going to happen to my stored settings and program with the V3i upgrade?

I sent my V3 out Friday. I would love it if I had it by next weekend.

Will all of the programs be set to the factory default?

Also what will happen to any stored programs?

Here is what I am missing. My buddy found this at my site:surprised:. He asked if I minded if he went without me, and of course I said yes. He did not want to tell me, and I don't blame him. Date is 1653-1700. He was using the other high end detector (no names, but you all know what detector it is). It was only about 4 inches down but he lost the signal in the dirt pile once it was dug. When he told me this I was thinking to myself that the V3 would have no problem finding it in the dirt pile. :crylol:

You will lose all of your old programs Neil. The V3i is an all new program that is not linkable with the V3 program or data.

Congratulations to your friend and his find, but it is hard to believe ANY detector would lose a silver target in the dirt pile, I think a Sunray pinpointer would have found it? Just a guess, a 1 Reale?

This is a thin half reale cob. When I dug my half reale a few months back it was a little difficult to find it in the plug with the detector. I had to break the clump of dirt open where the All Metal hum was. His Sunray probe picked it up for sure but he had to sift through some dirt first.

It makes me wonder, because the last signal I got before my trigger broke off was a steady silver sound that disappeared in the plug. Once the trigger broke off I abandoned the target. I will make sure I get back there first thing when I get the V3i!!

I did the upgrade. It will be as if the detector just came out of the box. The name on the startup display is erased to as well as a new password. Any custom saved programs are gone and all programs are factory loaded. The upgrade was really worth it.

Just heard from Bob at the Service Center in Manasas VA and it is going out via FedEx today!!! :clapping: I doubt I will have it for the weekend...

Make sure VCO is on and check modulation. Remember modulation numbers are reversed. You will be pleased.

Didn't they fix the Modulation on the (i) upgrade Rob?

Yep, I meant they are reversed from the way they were on the V3. 1 is now low and 5 is high. When going to the V3i you need to remember this if you use modulation and the V3i was coming with the VCO off. Rob
