What is going on with my threshold?

Today, in the middle of my afternoon hunt, my threshold increased pitch and stayed there....nothing I did could change it. Is this another way the Sovereign tells you your battery is low?

it could be ,but usually a week battery spikes every so often like swinging coil over a can, then it settles down after 1 second .....maybe you have a simular problem like the above poster--small metal shaving in bottom of shaft--just brainstorming ...good luck

ooooh boy.....I knew a high spiking threshold was a sign of a weak battery....but....this is new....THANK YOU for the tip! HH. Matt

It sure sounds like a weak battery as I have seen one or two that acted with no warning and just went to the high threshold and not able to turn it down no matter what you do. My first Sovereign XS did this and i thought it went bad as I had no warning at all.
On the other guy problem with the pieces of rivet in the shaft, that should only act up if this got close to the coil and moved, the ones I have seen and done have only stayed in the upper part of the shaft.
I think if you recharge the battery it will be fine.

Rick

I havent had one do that in awhile but if I remember right, not being able to adjust the threshold comes after the intermittent spikes letting you know the battery is low.
