What is Best Small Coil first

Wondering this and have no way to get a good answer. I know that everyplace you hunt should be hunted at least twice. Once with a Small Coil to unmask targets then with a large coil to get the Coins down deep.

Also you should always grid one direction then do it again at 90 Degrees.

Myself I usually try to use the small coil first and grid. Then I turn 90 degrees and grid with the large coil.

Should you use the Large Coil first or is my method best?

What to you think is best?

I agree with this 100%... Especially the part about hunting an area at least twice...

I sure do... First pass is from front to back as the diggers around here usually hunt from side to side...

This sounds logical... Especially if others might have already hunted the area...

The method you are using is how I approach sites as the local club here has been around since 1969...

Thanks Robert I have been hunting from the mid 80s or so and I am constantly amazed that I see a lot of Hunters who have no real pattern that they hunt. They just seem to wander around.

As far as the Coils I think arguments can be made both ways but I think it is more important to unmask what ever signals you may have before you come in with the bigger coil. It is a mighty satisfying feeling to dig an iffy signal then get up to find a nice clear good signal remains.
