What is a good sand scoop?

I do most of my hunting inland but live near a Great Lake and will want to do some beach hunting and would like to know if anyone can help me choose a good sand scoop? Otherwise i will probably end up buying at least 2 of them before i find a good one. It looks like the ones i see being used are the long handle ones and I think that is probably the best idea. After that, I don't know. Thanks

I'm liking my Sunspot Stealth 6.5".

I just purchased a Sunspot 6.5" Stainless. They are really expensive but made very well. There is also a russian guy who makes a good SS scoop. I was going to buy one of his but couldn't figure out how to pay. Lots of people use his scoops. They are about $170 without a handle and shipped from russia.
RTG makes SS and aluminum scoops and go for from about $79 up. They have a round bucket and straight or tilted handles. They sink if you drop them. The wooden handled ones at least float so you can grab the handle if you drop them. They say 5" is too small and the bigger the better but you can get their 5" aluminum scoop for about $99. I've seen his aluminum scoops used on ebay with a SS lip go for just over $100 plus shipping. There will probably be more for sale in the fall. Weight is also a problem for us non-weight lifters. SS weighs more than aluminum and the bigger it is the more it weighs.

Scoops are like detectors..... one may not work everywhere. If you buy a scoop specially designed to sift sand quickly it may not be what you need in the wet sand or waters edge. RTG has a large variety. I use a larger scoop.... 9X11 SS but i use it mostly in the water. If you drag these larger scoops on the sand to grid an area they can get heavy because they fill with sand thru the holes. You detector depth may also play in to it as well as you style of hunting. I say style.... because some move quickly to pickup the heavy recent drops and cover a lot of beach not careing about depth so the targets are easily and quickly dug.
