I am looking for a good water resistant cover for the XP control box. something that I can see through well and that I can make adjustments while it is on especially if I get caught in the rain and maybe still want to continue detecting.
thanks

The easiest and cheapest is the Zip-lock bag.
It can be slipped in and popped into a pocket or it can be slipped over the control box on the shaft in a light rain.
The next step is the smart phone water resistant case. They can be had form $7.00 up to over $100 for the full 300 foot waterproof.
Xp has also just released a water-proof water hunting kit that can be preordered from our sponsors for somewhere around $75

There is a silicone cover on Ebay. They work well protecting the unit. But they get hard to see through if you keep touching it with dirty hands. Personally I like the armband holders for Ipods. Cheap. Cut the armbands off. Slice it a little in the back and it works well for mounting. And you can easily push the buttons through it. They can be had at Walmart. Take the unit along to make sure it fits. But the absolute best way is to set the detector up and leave the unit in the car. Go by the tones. Yes, I know. I can't do it either.

There are a number of types on offer in the UK but at least 2 of us disliked the silicone ones. Jerry.

I bought an iPhone armband at Five and Below. All I did was cut out a piece on the back so I could slide it onto the stem. Very cheap and works great.
