What is a decent Bandido II uMax worth.

A used Cibola or Bandido II uMax bring about the same price.
Is the Bandido worth it or is it older technology.
Which one would you take if you had the choice.
I want a tesoro but don't want to go into the Vaquero price range yet.
thanks

Personally I would take the Bandido II uMax, I am more of a school ground/tot lot hunter and find the Bandido to hit on jewelry and low conductive items better. It also has an adjustable ground balance. Most of all I just love them older Tesoro's, they work very well & are fun to use. Steve.

I'd go with the Bandido II because of the manual ground balance. In my own case another reason is because I've already own a very complete selection of umax coils as well. However, if I was serious about picking up a Vaq or Tejon in the future and didn't have a vested interest in the umax coils, I'd go with the Cibola as it uses the same coils as the V and T. My two bits.

I have a Cibola and the Eldorado U max. I bought the Eldorado because the Bandido II had just been discontinued, and the Eldorado replaced it (and there were no second-hand Bandidos available in Aus. at that time). I dont know if the Eldorado is better than the Bandido, but I like my Eldorado more than the Cibola. Just a personal thing. My young daughter likes the Cibola better because "it is more simple to use" and "it doesn't have that continual buzzing sound"(from when I tried to get here to use it in All Metal mode. Eldorado is still my most productive beach machine (as compared with my Explorer and Sovereign) and gives great depth in All Metal mode.

You should post on the classifies that you're looking for a bandido 2 umax. you'll get some offers but make sure choose the seller wisely.

I had the Bandito and wished I had never gotten rid of it. The Cibola uses the H.O.T. technology in it's coils that would get you a little deeper, but it doesn't have ground balance which could be a mute point in higher mineralized soils. I'd go with the Bandido II because it will probably still carry Tesoro's lifetime warranty and has Tesoro's fast retune rate (you don't need a pinpoint button).

Expect anything below $200 a steal. In great condition $250-$275 is average.
