I read an article about cursors and looked them
up in manuel but didn't find anything about them.
Could someone please explain them to me?
and how they are used-- is it better to use a small one or a large?
Thanks
Leo

The cursor is the bullseye target that you see on the screen in "smart mode". The advantage of the big target is it is quickly and easily seen while detecting. Some pefer the smaller target for better IDing of targets. Then some times a change in cursor size is warrented when teaching the machine to "find" or "hide" a specific target in the "learn" mode..
Good Luck..

Thanks Jim for the information. I was waiting
for it to warm up abit but we went from 50 degrees
98 degrees -- kind of hot to metal detect.
I hope to go to New York and metal detect
Next month.
All the best

Jim,
How do you change the curser size? I've had an XS since last August but didn't know you could change the curser size (except for the three target frame sizes for learning). . . . and just when I thought I knew it all <IMG SRC="/forums/images/frown.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":(">

I believe that Jim is referring to the big smartfind display screen (Full Screen Display) and small display screen. As far as I know, there is only one size Target crosshair.
See page 48 of your instruction manual.

That is it Fred, the cursor is used in the learn mode for setting up your patterns, at time you want a close pattern for a junk item close to where trash reads,so you use the small and other times you may want to make a coin pattern and want to use the big cursor to compensated for wear and angle of a coin.
