What improvements or upgrades would you want on a new version of the AT Pro/AT Gold?

I've owned the AT Pro since it came out, bought it even though I had a top of the line Minelab, still I loved the AT Pro and I still do, I keep it along with the current top of the line Minelab because it's a great detector, and def has its place. Sometimes it just works better in certain soils than the FBS. Anyway, what if any improvements would you like to see? Myself I would like to see them somehow make it operate on 2 or 3 frequencies simultaneously and give it a really good saltwater mode. Maybe put it on a carbon fiber shaft to reduce the weight somewhat and give the control head a better viewing angle, and make the same shaft telescoping to shorten it for snorkeling easily. To clarify, the multi frequency mode be so,ey for saltwater mode, single freq rest of the time, and possibly have the ability to operate on any of the 3 frequencies at any time by switching it to say, 8, 12 or 15khz. Other than those changes I can't think of anything else, pretty darn good machines as they are!!

I have two issues.

My first one has been hashed out forever on the forum. The difficulty with changing coils. I get it that being waterproof, it has to be substantial, but does it have to be in such a awkward position?

My other issue is the detector stand is too small. The least bit of slope or uneven ground it tips over.
Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my AT Gold.

Of anything out there at any price, the A T Pro is still one of the best un-maskers going. Personally, I would like to see it have a little more depth, a change in the coil connection and a little less weight. I got so the coil connection was not a problem, but none the less, should be easier. HH jim tn

Once again, how about back lighting on the face? That would make it easier to use in low light circumstances...

I agree with the backlighting. I would really like to see a backlight for low light issues. Many times I just get in the mood of hunting and do not want to come in so early but I have to because I cannot see the screen.

Also, making it a little easier to change the Coils and headphones. This would not take much really. Just a minor design change in the cover to give a little more room for maneuvering when plugging in the headphones or Coils.

Other than that, I am extremely happy with my AT-Pro.

Screen redesign is a must. Backlight and larger display. Less awkward headphone and coil connections. Straight shaft.

Unless they can promise to leave it work exactly the same leave it alone! It works it works and it works well! I dairy farm so when the lites go out I'm either milking or sleeping so back lite no biggie. Yes there are detectors that weigh less but there are also ones that are heavier and way worse to swing. I like the atpro just the way it is also I put the 5x8 coil on and plugged my head phones in when I got it and haven't messed with either since. Yeah they are on the awkward side but if they came out with a at pro ll with new fittings I wouldn't be in line to get one for that or a back lite. And as far as ergonomics this thing is a beauty to swing people need to go back and swing a few of the old classics with 12 or 14 batteries. Just like a 12 pack of soda with rod and coil. This post is not directed at any of the above posts just my opinion. The atpro works amazing the way it is! Maybe make an all new model and keep the atpro in the line up.

The Infinium has the same headphone and coil connections. Except they are situated for very easy use. Otherwise being a clad/ jewelry hunter I'm pretty darn happy with the At Pro.

I'd like to see a true land version of either without the weighted coils to lighten the machine up. I don't water hunt and swinging these machines get rough on the arms.
