What I Have Learned about the E-Trac

New member
A year and a half ago I knew I was going to buy an E-Trac. It didn't take me long to realize that if I was going to spend that kind of money that I better make sure I was going to be able to learn how to use it being new to the hobby with 3yrs experience with only a Bounty Hunter Land Ranger. I did learn alot of the basic pin pointing without a probe so even with the E-Track my average Plug is no bigger than 4" in diameter. I started to print out every post that I felt was teaching me something and started a large binder. I organized it to cover every function on the Menu, puting every good post in its proper place for easy review of any subject. Its not to late, all you have to do is go all the way back as far as you can in the forum and start your own binder. You wont' have to ask the newbe question like How Do I Turn It On. Got Andy's Book a year ago and down loaded the manual a year ago and started studying a year ago. I can learn anything from others if I only listen and put out the effort. S------O I spent the money and now I own one as of last week. After only 20Hrs. on it I Have learn that If I turn it on, then I will always be learning something NEW, it comes with an unending learning curve. Go Slow and THINK or ask on the forum. HH Everyone

Looks like you got a good head start and well on your way of mastering your E-Trac. Look forward to see your finds.

Great attitude and "UN-REAL" organization man! Congratulations on your dedication.

Take care,

NebTrac

I have the same amount of time in and WOW its not hard but I kind of like it !!!!

just when you think the E-trac has shown you all of its tricks... KA-BAM!!! it'll blow you away with something new and wonderful. I still marvel at it's excellence and I've had it since release.

The binder is a VERY thoughtful idea!

Which gives me an idea... What if all of the greats with the E-trac collaborated on a book and made like an adventure / how to? I'd pay $20 for that.

McDean,I had the same thought way back when I took interest in the E-Trac. Organized Information right here on the forum, type in a Key word such as Deep coins and every post concerning Deep Coins would come up on one page for review.
Now, would be the right time to do it for the XP Deus Forum. Organized Information. It could be done !!!! Also, how I did my binder was once I made a list of the Best contributors on this forum like Ray mo, Goes4ever,Neb Trac and many more all
you have to do is (Click on their Name) on the far right side of of the post page who made the post and when the new page comes up, click on show all posts and every post that member has made will come up. I can read only that persons posts, gather all the Info I want from that person then move on to the next member so on and so fourth. Choose a subject then see what each member on your list has a post on that. Print out their post and start your Binder.

I did something similar, downloaded manuals and all the information I could get. I have two large binders full of material which I still add to as I come across interesting things. It helps to occasionally pull one of them off the shelf and go through just to refresh your memory.
