What Freq do you use most?

What freq do you use when relic hunting...I was thinking of trying 12 for buttons and bullets and relics like that...Any advantage to the 18 freq, I know it hits on small thin coins like it Europe and small copper....

4 and 8 for me about 90% of the time unless EMI becomes too frustrating. Seems like everywehere I like to hunt there is a lot of can slaw, but I don't get too discouraged when I find deeper pieces of slaw since a coin would also register at the same depth should it be there. 8 kHz will hit copper and silver coins at ALMOST the same max depth as 4 kHz, but will hit nickels and smaller targets harder.

While in 4 kHz the other day I was able to hit a 10-cent "play money" aluminum token at 7" with GB settings running a couple points below the indicated GB value. It was a faint tone with no VDI, but a 90 degree sweep indicated the same tone, so I dug it.

Going hunting today using the "hotter" GB settings at another 100-year old vacant lot - will be posting results later this afternoon!
