What Featurures would you like on a New Tesoro?

Maybe some imput from their customers might encourage future designs. I myself would like a unit that has GB and at least 3 tones with the "Hot Technology".

Ok digger! You win , game over!! I will add one thing, make it select able either 3 tone or one. With GB.

Can you even imagine a machine like that... wow.

I take one too. Just price no higher than 450.00 retail and you would have a killer.

How about a Vaquero Pro, with dual discriminators and the trigger function, selectable 3 tone, and a DD coil for under 650.00.

Vaquero Pro or Vaquero +.................

Trigger Toggle Switch: All metal (forward) - DISC (center) - Pin-Point (PP spring loaded (back)) - - -

Wireless headphones with backup (switchable) headphone jack/speaker (rubber plug for headphone jack when not in use (also seals unit from moisture & dirt)) - - -

Better Water resistant housing (not for water hunting, just more protection from rain & moisture) - - -

Switchable tone for people who have hearing issues (high-medium-low) hidden in battery compartment (switchable say with a ball point pen (by owner))...............

Single tone discriminate still works for me (I'll not let a machine guess what a good target is or is'nt ) Beep & dig is always the best policy.

Special DISC knob that you can use your thumb to run through the discrimination spectrum. ( I've made this modification & it works ) (its for right handers).

How about dual disc, 10 turn GB, Non-motion pinpoint, 2-tone or 3-tone selectable, and 5khz or 19khz selectable (or you can choose one or the other when you order), and a steady threshold hum in all metal.

multi frequency and wireless headphones ,thats not rocket science nowadays .
its great to get rid the headphones cable .

I'm kind of a simple guy... Give me faster recovery speed and the ability to run disc w/o loss of depth.... Or dual disc! Definaty 10 turn gb, keep it single tone... If multiple tone make the disc points selectable. 10 and/or 12" concentric offerings for hot units... Enough on the land machines, they aren't too bad... I won't go into any major drama on the water units but will just say the sens needs to be external, thresh could be as well. Also all water units should come as a straight shaft option ! I would buy a tiger again if the critical controls were more accessible.

What I'd love to Tesoro come out with is a waterproof dual/multi frequency detector.

automatic and manual GB option
1 tone and 2 tones option
the name, Tesoro Topo

but for now I'm happy with the ones I have

I love the amped up Vaquero pro idea, Along with switchable 5 or 15khz, switchable 1 or 3 tone, a super stable threshold with auto or manual GB and a loud and obvious target response in AM od disc mode. Toggle switches would be nice but I can live without it. Such a machine might end my long quest for relic depth and all purpose perfection.
Even put a good price on it so as not to under sell the other detectors.

Does anyone know if Tesoro builds custom built machines? If so I would be willing to pay for a machine built to my personal preference.

i've said :thumbup:this a hundred times. A cibola with vdi. or A cibola with 3 led lights. red, yellow, green. Nothing more.

How bout a talking machine that tells you what the target is!

I love both Ideas you have, except lets have 4 leds, one for each tone.

that led idea sounds interesting, even for me that don't like screens and vdis

How about a self running, computerized metal detector that will be able to criss-cross an entire field (different patterns to choose from!!!), (similar to one of those automatic lawn-mowers), marking each spot with a white spot where to dig. Your time will be spent digging! While you're digging, it's off to find another mark. Make it a Tesoro Compadre type - that's one powerful machine.

Played around with a couple ideas this week actually! With a little photoshop work I came up with this..

I would really like to see a Golden Umax with a ground balance control. Who would buy a 400+$$ machine without one? I just dont see why I would risk losing depth/performance when I can spend 20$ more and get a Vaquero. Probably the reason the golden doesn't sell to well?

13 KHZ. And I like the fisher style ground tracking.

Edit: You could swap the Freq switch for a backlight..

TN Mike I like your Ideals a whole lot. I wonder if they can get all that into a uMax box?

O yeah! I forgot to mention that a trigger style pinpoint / all metal mode should be on this rig too. And as far as the Umax box, I dunno. Shouldn't have to be much bigger. The Tejon already has that many knobs, and a lcd is thinner than speaker for sure.
