What extra depth does 10.5" give the Coinstrike?

Is this worth getting? How much extra depth will you get on a dime?

depending on how long it's been in the ground, soil conditions, and coin angle. I had a 10" coil for my CZ's and it added about 2" more depth so I would assume the 10" coil would do the same for the C$.

Hi,

I use the 10.5" more than the 8" coil, but can say with confidence that you get 1-2" more depth in soil. More in sand. The 8" is a very good coil and goes deepr than any 8" coil I have dealt with.

With the 10.5" coil I got a solid ID on a piece of brass the size of a belt buckle at armpit depth in VA last month. Over 2 feet deep.

You should be able to get a solid ID on a coin at 9" in most soils.

visit the coinstrike homepage by typing coinstrike into google
