I have had all the nice detectors and the DFX was my best one...but it had no depth but found a lot of stuff. So I got a fisher CZ3 and hated it, so simple to use and no number read out. But I gave it a chance and itloved silver and had great depth.
I dug out a 1800 large cent at 12 inches! In the right area the CZ3 was a lot of fun. I hunt more schools and parks and I found the 3Z was not as good at finding newer targets. I did find a lot of change and my share of rings but not like the DFX.
So now I had depth and the high tone on most good coins and some gold coins so now I had a new angle on hunting. I even found an Indian head penny that I would have never dug on my DFX, it was the high tone that got it for me.
Then I bought the CZ70 pro. I sold a Troy X5 after a week of using it. The CZ70 was like a DFX but with the depth of the CZ3. It loved coins that were close togeather and loved nickels and I mean nickels. I must have four hundred dollars in nickels in my nickel container,(the CZ3 also loves nickels)!
So now I have two different detectors but I want another one. Thought about the Explorer and I know how heavy they are and I can't deal with the added weight after swinging the Fishers.
So I am looking at the coinstrike...seems more like a DFX with less to program but it has depth and does great around trash with the standard coil. And I think that is going to be the new one for me.
I like to go and hunt a place over again if it seemed to produce a mix of good finds, so I like having different detectors to see what I may have missed or what the detector was not able to find.
The CZ70 is my go in and see what is there detector because I get depth and I have the fourth tone to help me on older coins. And I have the 10.5 coil
I guess to sum it up each detector has its own way of hitting targets so why not work it over again with a different detector. I know that during the morning a target will hit differently then it will in the afternoon. And the different seasons change the ground as does the time of day.
Nothing out there in the way of new detectors that is a better mouse trap they are all just a little different. The detector is only as good as the person using it right.

I feel this forum is for discussing CZ detectors and
probably would do better if you addresed a particuliar detector on the proper forum..or perhaps a forum for all brands..No perfect detector and we all have our preferences. Seems like your interested in a Coinstrike so why not address it on the Coinstrike forum..

Me personally... I think he did discuss the CZ. So what if he mentioned getting a C$.
Whats up.. are you the new forum police or what Dan?
You did this to me over on a Minelab forum not to long ago.
Findmall is the most open and non-biased forum around, we don't need set in stone rules on cross discussing makes, models or BRANDS. It's done all the time by other posters, why pick on a couple?????
Sorry If I offend but those are my feelings.
JMHO Tom

Dan if you read my post I did talk about my CZ3 and CZ70 pro and to be honest I think you are out of place by saying I have to stick to the Coinstrike forum. I have a great love for my fishers and I don't think I offended anyone but you so read the post again. It is your kind of reaction that takes the fun away from a forum much like someone that won't let you detect in a park of school.

I wouldn't discount the Explorer because of weight. To me it seems that my 3D with the 10.5 is almost as heavy as my Explorer with it's 10.5 on. I am active in my work, etc. so a few ounces might make less of a difference to me. But, the Explorer is a very strong machine in iron and when other machines start giving up depth due to mineralization the Explorer will start to show you what it's made of. In my area the Explorer is NOT the winner in depth all of the time. My 3D can alot of times beat my Explorer in depth in tamer soil. Sometime you don't need depth but accurate target seperation or being excellent in iron. I dug a seated dime in a heavily detected park at less than 5 inches. You didn't need depth in that instance but the Explorer being excellent in iron could see that coin when other detectors couldn't. To me depth is not everything. As alot of people know on this forum I didn't like my Coinstrike and have a hard time recommending it. The Coinstrike was very inconsistant for me in my area. One place it was getting working great the next place it did horrible. I dug alot of hot rocks that IDed in the 20's... <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> But, how the Coinstrike did in my area should by no means the end word. Alot of people do very well with the Coinstrike. Jackpine Savage (Tom) is a believer in the Minelab Advantage. That will probably be my next 'play' detector to put it thru it's paces. I have heard alot of good things about the Advantage.

Sovereign GT. I can't speak for the GT right now, I have only used the GT twice.I love the 70. I use the 70 with the 8" coil and the 3D with the 5" coil. I had 2 Coinstrikes and a friend had one, they just did not do very good in our site's. I hunted a small area with the GT Sunday that gave the CZ's and a Classic ID fits, I have never seen this type of interference before. I think that we are all grown up enough that we can talk about other units. At one old site, a guy with a 1266 x has been kicking our butt's. The main thing, get out and have some fun, life is to short as it is. HH..BJ

Perhaps my post was taken out of context or was being too rigid relative the policies of forums. In reallity discussing other detectors may enhance our knowledge of detectors as a whole..In addendum do visit the other forums as there is one for each make and you may gain additional info..In any case I hope I have not offended anyone and appears forums have become more liberal over the years.

Dan ...dont sweat it. I know he talked about all these detectors.......however i took it as he was looking for an opinion on the C$.....Not an opinion on a cz70, cz3d , x5 ,or exployer, or Dfx since he already has an opinion on those machines. Seems like your suggestion to post it on the C$ forum was a logical choice to gain information or an opinion on the C$.Seems like we have to be so politically correct these days.......all in all he ask what every one thinks....and then gets upset when you put your 2 cents in.Kinda crazy aint it!!

and I could care less what detector you use, everyone is entitled to an oppinion. I use a White's XLT mostly, have a CZ7A that works well for some sites and an old Garrett MH5. It is nice to go to a detector specific site for some info and experience. HH, Mike
