I HAVE A 9.5 5.3 4.6DD FOR MY DFX; I NOT OPEN UP THE 4.6 SHOOTER COIL! DO YOU THINK I SHOULD KEEP IT OR TRADE FOR A LARGER ONE? I HUNT PARKS , FIELDS,BEACHES AND WOODS. THANKS DOUG ps; love my DFX!!

To each their own. Personally, I don't have a use for the 4X6 but many others do especially in VERY trashy ground where separation is needed. The 5.3 works well for me in those conditions. The 12 inch conical does come in handy on the beaches and other large areas where there is little trash and you want to cover a lot of ground.

Thanks for your help!! My soil here in wilmigton N.C.is sandy so i might try the 6''x10''dd. My 5.3 eclipse is working out great!! and so is the 91/2'' I think i would used 6''x10'' more so maybe i could work out a trade!! Doug

I have all the coils you mention. I don't use the 4X6 real often, but when needed for heavy trash, it's the best IMHO. However, I use the 6X10 most of the time including fairly trashy areas with good results. I use the 9.5 and the 12 the least, but that's because I'm not hunting open, nearly trash free areas much, but I have'm if I need 'em. My two bits.

I also recall reading something that said the DD coils work good in mineralized soils...Wonder if I should invest in the 4x6, as I live up here in NY hell....Clay, Sand, limestone, pea gravel, rocks, nuclear waste...We have it all up here...

HH,

The 6X10 is a DD and so far it's run quietly and been effective every where I've used it.
