i think its a suspender clip..... there has been a few of them on the whatzit forum over the last few months..... i have found 2 or 3 of them over the years,,,,, judging by the way they are stamped out of thin metal i would guess 1890s-early 1900s but thats just a guess..... cool design though... nice mid-evil design on that one...
