What diameter (OD) tubing do I need to make an excal straight rod?

There is a thread link in the Excalibur Accessories sticky towards the very end. I ran across an excellent thread where there was a lot of discussion of the diameters and gauges of both the Excalibur and Sovereign shafts and suitable replacements, so I posted the link to that thread in both detector's accessories stickys.
