What detector ?

Clinton, how much is that in US Dollars? Turn and go new metal detector thats simple works well you won't grow out of in a week or two a Fisher CZ3D.Try a hands on compare demo at a dealer.

I have been swinging a detector for thirty years. Owned about fifty detectors Now own twelve. If I were to spend that kind of money on a detector I would, if possible try several detectors. I am sure you will get quiet few different answers as to a particular detector. But what one likes may not be what someone else likes. Really a tough decision for you....Jack

Wise words thanks Jack !

Can I ask What detectors you have now ? and the reason why you like each one, also which is your primary one if any.

As has been mentioned, you will probably get several different recommendations as to what detector to buy and most would probably be an o.k. choice for you. By the same token, what performs good for me in my soil, may not as well in yours. If you have any metal detecting clubs in your area, a local club could give you some good insight as to which detectors work well in your area. Also, contact some of the dealers in your area. Most are usually very helpfull and can give you some good direction and you can see detectors first hand. Just getting started with the hobby, I might spend some less $$$ right off and maybe start with something like the Fisher F4. Good luck and when you make your selection, HH. jim tn

I have a Whites XLT--2 250's one for me amd one for my wife...Minelab Exterra 70---Minelab Explorer XS---Fisher ID Excel---Fisher F4---Technetics Mark 1--Technetics Big Bud-- Gold Mountain King Cobra---and a one of a kind water machine....Tesoro Golden mounted in a Garrett infinium case with Whites water proof headphones. If I could figure out which was the best detector I probably would not have the rest. I guess if I only could have one (don;t laugh) It could be the XLT or the Ace 250.....Jack
