Hi,
I presently own a Sovereign GT but the weight is getting me down and don't like being connected by the hip. I have decided to change to either a Laser Trident II or a Tesoro Vaqnero. As I have no experience with these machines I was wondering if anyone out there could help me decide which would be the best machine. Just for general everyday use, the best allrounder. Would much appreciate any advice. Thanks. Colin

Welcome to the world of Tesoro, no matter what you choose you will be able to swing all day.

The Laser II and the Vaquero are the same machines. The Laser line is Tesoro's European branding.

i say the XP ADVENTIS 2 its a good detector!!

I swing a Vaquero. All I can tell you is that if I lost mine today, tomorrow I would buy another. I can't say it any plainer.

Take a look at the Tejon:thumbup: I had a DFX before the Tejon and my shoulder and arm were killing me after 2 hours. The Tejon has been great swinging. The only thing that bothers me is my back from digging so many targets. But my back is starting to get use to the bending over all the time. Never had a Detector that is a Nickle magnet. Just waiting for the gold to come my way!!!!! Also suggest a 5.3 coil for heavy trash. Also this unit goes deep!!!!!

Hi

There is a difference between the Laser TRIDENT 2 and the Vaquero.

The trident offers choice between automatic/manual ground balance.

The manual GB is a 3/4 turn, not a 3 3/4 one.

Plus it has the option of being upgraded to 18 Khz.

Have a look : here

I agree the tone availablilty is great for those with hearing problems. You can get the Cibola/Vaquero in low or high tone, The Tejon has a control to adjust the tone anywhere you need it.

I've never noticed that Automatic GB mode, would you mind tell me how it works and where it is on the machine?

The khz might be different but really doubt it.

Here is a link that works http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/laser.htm

Well, I don't know why the link did not work.

It seems I cannot even re-place it. Look on google for pentechnic detectors UK.

The GB knob can be clicked fully counterclockwise to a "fixed" mode, and ground balanced manually if needed or wanted.

Wow that is nice, I wonder why the US has two models when only one is needed. Oh well, thanks for setting me strait.

Hi

My message has been censored.

That is why the link did not work.
