What Detector

onpoint

New member
I currently own a Fisher Coin$trike ( first ever detector ) and was wondering what would be a good detector to buy next ? I just feel it's about time I experimented with other detectors. I only hunt for coin's & go to the salt beaches once in a Blue Moon. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post some here.
Thanks Clinton

There are few detectors in the world that operate like the CoinStrike. I would consider purchasing the optional coils for it, and or another CoinStrike for a back up.

I would give thought to the ID Edge, and some thought to the ID Excel. Those detectors aproxmate the operation of the CoinStrike. First choice the ID Edge. :clapping:

As Mr. Bill said, the Coinstrike is a great detector, especially as it's namesake says, for coins with the 7khz range. The Edge & Excel are so similar I think if you really wanted something a little different, with a khz about twice as much, I would say a T2 or F75 or F70. The T2 & F75 have a super DD coil stock, & that great trigger which is something I always wished for on my C$ & edge.....
Another Fisher option that would be something quite different from the C$ would be a CZ. Maybe a 3D or even a CZ-70 if you can find one. They are deep coinhunters and excellent for those occations you do get to the beach with the 2 frequencies.....

Bill

I would agree with BB that the Edge would be a good choice as it operates similar to the C$ but I found it much better at not adding to my bottle cap collection. JMHO:shrug:

Many thanks for your input Gents, The C$ is a Top machine as far as I'm concerned I have had great sucess with it to date ( nothing to old as yet but I'm sure it will come one day ) Could I ask how long is the learning curve on the detectors mentioned ? Also any tips on set up say F75 for example as I understand the C$ is a different animal ! I have no ideas how to use any other type of detector.
Clinton.
