What Detector

onpoint

New member
I currently own a Fisher Coin$trike ( first ever detector ) and was wondering what would be a good detector to buy next ? I just feel it's about time I experimented with other detectors. I only hunt for coin's & go to the salt beaches once in a Blue Moon. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post some here.
Thanks Clinton

By pass the rest and get the best, built by old fisher, like a tank cz-3d no problems,no recalls, just pure fun.one of the deepest detectors made, also a great advantage the 3d has 2 frequencies,5 and 15.that hunt at the same time. This is a true fisher detector.

You've been all over the place asking that same question!!----So now I am going to give you one & only TRUE ANSWER.----Run out & buy the F70!!!!!!!!---NEXT QUESTION PLEASE!

There are a tone of detectors to chose from, but you are on a fisher forum so maybe a fisher! CZ3 is really deep and has three coils? The F5 is a great coin and relic detector I have it and it has for the most part kept up with my F75. But the F75 is my main detector I think it does great in turf it is deep and fast and light and does great in iron and trash and has two coils. All the other brands do not interest me for I love the feel and why the Fishers are set up.

Thanks for the input so far Gents, Could I ask how long is the learning curve on these detectors mentioned ? I understand that the C$ is a different animal compared to other detectors, also any tips on how to set the detectors mentioned up ?

Read carefully all of the caveats on the F75 . It's a good detector but a mess around EMI (check out http://www.dankowskidetectors.com for a lot of discussion on the Fisher line). I own an F4 that has been really good to me that is advertised now in the classifieds. I also have an ACE250 that is fun (and EASY to use). I also have an Minelab Explorer 2, but I'm pretty much have no idea what I'm doing right now .

From what I'm reading the Xterra 70 may be one to take seriously. A lot depends on what YOU want and how much you're willing to spend. If you're looking to go out and be "Mr. Treasure hunter" and dig 10" holes, then you may be willing to deal with the high learning curve and annoying interference some detectors bring. If you're looking to just have fun and dig up some cool stuff, you might want to consider something with reasonable depth and ease of use (and easier on the wallet).

Cool thanks again Gent's, I have seen a Minelab quattro in my local paper cheap would this kind of md be worth looking at ? I have very little knowledge of metal detecting machines as mentioned earlier in this thread.
