What criteria do you use

If I'm relic hunting and I get a good repeatable signal or hits once ,change direction and it hits good gain I dig, been known to be something good on edge.In the farm fields with low trash I dig about everything. In other places I listen when I get a beep to see if it breaks up any at all on either pass, but the number one thing I always dig is a repeatable signal that is deep. 3 plus inches get dug everytime sometimes if it just hits one way. Get a good shovel, GROUND SHARK, and let it discriminate all deep signals for you. I hunt in relic mode with the gain wide open with the SEF coil most of the time. Lee

In the woods or an old abandoned house site, I pretty much dig everything with a few exceptions ie... nails. I live in the big city (metro Atlanta) and the park & school admins. are REALLY particular as are the cops. I have to be MUCH more selective about what to dig. Sometimes, I'd bet there's Silver under the coil but I may be in an area where I can't retrieve a coin at 7 or more inches. This has as much to do with JERKS that came before me that didn't fill their holes as anything! When you can, the old mantra "When in doubt DIG" is as true now as it always has been! HH. :pulltab:
