From the land of the Bluenose.......I run a couple of old Freedom 3 Pluses and have had a new experience with them recently. Just wondering if running them at o discrim and max deepth will cause this. Have been using this model ever since it came out and just recently started doing this. I know about high tension power lines and some mineralized areas that cause this. Any clue folks?

You will also detect the coil itself , and the cable. If you have the cable very secure you can run sensitivity higher than if it is loose at all, but you can only go so far before you will get the falsing. Try it out and let us know the results!

O disc and max sensitivity can create problems in some areas.as you're making it sensitive to all the junk and mineralization in the ground. Remember, sensitivity is not a depth control. It doesn't make the signal shoot further into the ground - it just makes the coil more sensitive to EVERYTHING in the ground.
