What can I expect over winter in Florida??

Keep in mind that I'm still a newbie at this (4 mos) and saw my beginning days at detecting at the peak of the summer. When I started this hobby I jumped in head first and haven't looked back. You all are some really great people and I'm happy to be associated with you. Plus in the 4 months I've found 37 rings and a bunch of interesting stuff!
That being said, I'm wondering what beach hunting here in Florida in the winter is gonna be like. I know in the Bay area temps get pretty chilly and I can't imagine too many people getting into the water to loose their belongings. What does everyone do? Is it a surf thing where the winter months bring big surf to churn up what's there?

Two years ago, I was in Daytona Beach, Sunshine Beach, Hollywood Beach and one other I can't remember. Three weeks of fun. I found 688 coins and one gold ring. Only time I have ever detected Florida and I waded and didn't dive. I wore a shortie, water was nice.

All the help I can give you. I am sure if your persistant you will find something. I played in the water a lot.

Ok, since I live in the FL Keys. Here is my 2cents.
The winter time has been seeing alot more Europeans in the last several years.
ALot of marketing money spent overseas. This is Monroe County. Basically everything south of Miami.
The crazy Canadians and Europeans will jump in the water when its 65degrees out in Jan/Feb. Water temp who knows.
Not this cat. I have my full 1982 skiing outfit on from the Midwest when it hits 69degrees out.

It shocks me how many people are out in the water at this time.
Hunting should be fine wherever in FL. If they have all of their clothes on and walking and playing on the beach they should lose something.
Florida is just fine in the winter. It will be my first big water only test this season.
Just dedicated myself to Pulse Induction hunting only.
I will have full wetsuit and and the cool Anti-Shark gear on thats the rage right now.

Good luck Mate.
