What camera to use?

What is a good camera to use for uploading photos to this forum? The one I have makes the files to large to post and it is really Aggravating me!

I use http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDownload.htm

to Re-size the photos. No need to buy another camera. I think "photobucket", you can do it there also. But I've never been there, just heard about it.

If you have windows photo gallery you can do it there. PM me if you do I can tell you how.

I just put mine in my Facebook album. Then just copy the location URL into the post using the image URL button. No resizing necessary for me, I guess FB optimizes the size.

You can also use Paint program that comes with the windows operating system, quick and easy to use.

Start the Paint program, go to file select open, go to the spot where you have your pictures stored, select one and open it. Then go to image select stretch and skew you will see a box the top portion of it has stretch with the top part highlighted 100 percent depending on how big your original is selcet a percentage for example 20 then go to second line do the same and select ok. Then save it with same name to overwrite or give different name to keep both sizes.

check your camera settings and see if it has an e-mail size photo and the camera itself will produce smaller file sizes... Almost all digital cameras have a section for photo size, check your menu or the manual

This is true too. You can select 640X480 for your picture size or some cameras have you select "Small or Large Format". The only down side to this option is that if you happen to take a photo you really like, if taken at a low resolutuon it will never be a candidate for a very good print or enlargement. What I do is, if I'm in the field I take high resolution pictures then resize to post on the forum. Just in case I get a real cool photo that I can't duplicate. If I'm taking pictures after the hunt, just to post on the forum, I set the camera to a lower resoultion like 640X480.
I also use "Microsoft Paint" to resize my photos like Bell-Two suggests above.
I like Googles' "Picasa" program to store and edit my photos. It's free and will allow you to "Save a Copy" under your "File" Tab in the program. This will produce a Carbon Copy of your Picture that you can edit and not run the risk of ruining your original.

I shoot pictures in high resolution in case I might want to print a picture, but reducing to postable size is a snap for me. After downloading pictures off the camera, I Email them to myself and I choose the medium size when asked. Windows Mail automatically sizes them before sending and I save them when I get my own Email and they are ready to post after saving. It takes longer to download the pictures from the camera than it does to Email and save 10 pictures at a time.
