What are the best large coil options for the ATP?

Thinking about getting a bigger coil than the stock and am wondering what would be a good choice. Anyone had any experience with a larger coil that they will share? I will be hunting good soil and fresh water.

John hit the nail on the head!!

I had no idea such a critter was available!...it would be a beachsweeper deluxe for sure...thats what I'd be interested in it for...I dont care about the TIDs, mainly the coverage and comfort of swinging it for long times...beach sweeping and wading in water, miss by and inch, miss by a mile...How does it swing? I've been looking at those big NELS for a higher coverage factor...maybe this winter a guy can come up with a nice balanced, comfortable rig for this big sand I have to deal with..it sure is a trade off trying to figure it all out..
Mud.

Maybe need a support strap for land use. They use those for the big coils when nugget hunting. Coil weight under water is less an issue. Another thing to try is to shorten the shaft length a couple of notches and grip the handle as close to the control box as possible--at the top of the handle grip sometimes may only get a couple fingers holding it. Not the best way but it might work in a pinch or when you get too tired.

I have used the NEL Big coil for a while now. I can definitely say that it has found stuff in places that I couldn't before. at a local high school that were grounds for older buildings, i just dug a '48 washington at over 10" easy. my pin pointer was down in the hole. i was shocked when i finally got it out. also, same school, i found an 1826 large cent. i have talked to other detectorists who have hunted there that i know and they havent found squat except for a few wheaties.

what i listen for are semi-repeatable signals that are very deep. it has produced some really nice finds. obviously, hunting with a giant coil like that brings its own challenges. but, just another tool for the toolkit.
