Christians....and metal detecting....I love it!

I've only been swinging my coil for a month (and have been graced with finding enough jewelry to pay for it) and I'm having a blast! More importantly, my young teen son loves to come with me. I'm a 100% disabled veteran (knees) so we joke about how we make a great team, I'm the "finder" and he's the "digger"!

Is there anyone out there in the Colorado area (specifically Fort Collins) or familiar with it enough to direct a newbie to decent hunting grounds. I'm not asking for rivers flowing with gold (my treasures are already "stored up" in the right place!), but I would like to find some beginner, productive areas. I keep reading people's comments on forums about how Colorado is a great area to swing a coil. I've found one ghost town, but because of the sharp decline into the ravine and two mile hike to it, my knees are all but shot just getting there.

I don't mean to be a nuisance, and I apologize if I've come off as one. Just looking for some friendly advice.

Good day,

Ken

One of the co-administrators on the American Detectorist forum lives in Fort Collins. His online name is CyberSage. He is a great detectorist in my opinion - maybe send him a note asking for help. steve in so az

on this forum and May God Bless you and your son to find the places that are easier for you to hunt! Amen! Wish I had someone to do the digging for me, as I am unable to do so anymore because of my feet and legs being swollen and hurting a lot....I fall too easily to take a chance of going :detecting: without an assistant in case of something happening, for if I fall I can't get up by myself! Ma

Ken, glad you`re here...look foward to seeing more of your posts.

Thank you for your service to this country. Glad you two can enjoy this great hobby together!

Hey Ken! Welcome to the forum. Hoping to see you posting around here often. Good luck finding fellow detectorist in Colorado. You'll have to let us know if you ever make it out to Michigan.

Welcome aboard Ken and thank you for your service to America. You'll likely to get all the help you'll need here, on the forum, and there is a 'On-Line Ony' club designed specifically for those 'New' to the hobby of metal detecting @ River City Treasure Club I designed and built about a year ago to aid new comers. It may be a great learning experience for your son?
