What am I missing "new" Compadre?

All of a sudden.. the bay has turned up a "new" Compadre for not 160.00 but 260 plus. Still plenty of the 160.00 versions in both the 5.75 and the 8 inch coil.
What do I get for the extra hundred bucks.??

(I am still learning my Pawn Shop Eldorado.. but I plan to add a Compadre sometime down the road.

You get nothing.
Hit the links and the next page shows the regular $160 price on most of them.
One dealer has 10 to sell, $260 on the first page but $160 on all the next pages but one...
That one is listed at $1,160 so it must be real special, or someone didn't enter the price correctly.

Anyone that pays more than $150-$160 for a new Compadre please get in touch with me for some deals on property I am offering in Fla.

Getting a Compadre for the arsenal is something I have recommended to anyone and everyone for awhile, now.
Using mine part time it has paid for itself more than 10X's over, and never ceases to amaze me almost every time I take it out.

i have seen things like that on amazon also. a 5.75 widescan coil with a photo of it for 10 dollars. but it turns out to be the just the cover. does not say coil cover, says search coil. haha

maybe a mistake

Most of those jacked up prices you see aren't mistakes. They're just hoping that some sucker will hit the pay button without checking prices first and reading actually what's included in the price. It almost happened to me the other day when I was shopping for insulated gloves. One seller and most of the other sellers of the same glove had 6 pairs for around $20.60 dollars. Another seller was just a few cents lower on the same glove but it was for only one pair. You have to read the small print!

Another trick that they pull is to take a highly rated item like a camera that has lots of reviews and double up or triple up on the price. The reviews were made by people who bought the camera for $150 dollars. All that you see when you're looking at the ad is a camera that's $350 dollars that everyone rated really high. Must be a good deal huh?

My conclusion is it's just a typo in most cases. Just curious that its on several listings.. all Compadres. I am going to keep looking for a used one with a coveted 7 inch coil.

Fumble fingers, Fat fingers, or Failure to proof read.

You get $260 buy accidently hitting the '2' next to the '1'.

You get '1160 buy stuttering on the '1' key and hitting it twice.

Simple reasons.

Monte that does happen, but the net is also full of crooks who try their best to take advantage of people. In this case you're probably right about it being a typo.

not on that mystical high dollar somebody tagged on a Diablo µMAX!

While I think I am correct on the reasons for those mentioned errors, you are also correct about some of the remarkable prices we see people put on some models, even so old and worn that I wouldn't give $5 at a garage sale. What is even more sad is that very often they are sold to people who just don't know any better. :(

You may get a good price sometimes but then the shipping they have listed is way too high. Thats the trick I see most on the bay.
