I need some help everytime i go out in the yard and turn on my explorer to the preset coin program or anyother program i get a constant hum in my ear phones.i do get a signal in one spot that sounds like a flute with the cross hair in the upper right corner half in view half out. but still cant get rid of the hum. even the noise cancel dosnt work. any advice would be appreciated very much. The hum is driven me nuts!!! thanks, Mike

the hum is the threshold, while in detect mode you can turn it down with the down pushbutton on the right of the screen, you can also change the tone of the threshold in the audio options screen...you can turn the threhold till you cant hear it any more, but I suggest running it at lowest audible setting...Jim

you have to be on the quickstart smart or the advanced smart screens to adjust the threshold volume, on the right side of the screen there is an up arrow and a down arrow, push the buttons next to them to adjust.

mike sounds like you are lost in the woods like me my suggestion is pick up andys book mastering the expxs and exp. it is great and very informative, also has alot of great tips. by the sound of everyone on this site i can tell that the exp xs will take time to understand so we have to be patient and put in the time needed to get this unit down pat.it seems that the guys that know how to use the units capibilities are having great results also these guys are great help when you need it . hope this helps new another EXP>XS NEWBIE have only used mine 4 hours our good friends at sunray have the upper rod right now installing the x1 probe i also have the stealth 8 inch sunray coil when i get this rod back its going to be BALLS TO THE WALLS FOR ME.
