What about those "Bonk" sounds on a weak target?

This question is regarding the SE, I've noticed that if a good target is on the edge of the detectors depth, the detector makes a "bonk, bonk" sound, thats the only way I can describe it, but its loud. Or it goes "Bop, Flute sound, bop" if the target is waved at the edge of its range.

It will do it in an air test too, what causes this? Do you just ignore it on iffy Targets?

Bonk to me is iron. If the good beep is good enough, I ignore the bonk. This is hard to describe how I decide to dig or not. If I am getting bonk/beep I will try scanning the target at 90 degrees and see what happens. I will also use pinpoint to see if I can "size" it a little better. Dig a few and see what you get, check the Smartfind screen for more data as to where it is bouncing, it is probably bouncing into iron areas. Can still be something good, especially if deep.
