What about it?

I have a Vaquero, but I've been looking at a Tejon to use for the am and disc trigger. I have 4 coil, the stock, 12 x 10, 5.75 and the CS.
I'm wanting to get into the old home site hunting too. But I've read a lot about the Eldorado and Compadre being better in iron infested ground than both the Vaquero and the Tejon. All said, would the Tejon be a good compliment to the Vaquero or vice versa.

Mark,
The Tejon is going to be a highly sensitive unit just like your Vaquero. In that realm, your going to need to know the sound of large or flat iron targets. Nails are no problem and the dual Disc will help eliminate the problem, but sound is key. Older Tesoro's are excellent, but lack the sensitivity to locate the small, deep items and they do not yield the depth (from all of the Tesoro's I've used) that the HOT's are running. If you like the dual Disc, GB and AM features and the ease of switching modes, you'll like the Tejon. It does have very good depth. Good hunting, David@Dixie
